2010-11 Officers and Directors Inducted

The Rotary Club of Hunt Valley held its 2010-2011 Changeover Banquet on Wednesday, July 7th, at Hayfields Country Club.  Assistant District Governor Robert Kalinoski presided over the induction of incoming President Eric Miller along with the slate of incoming officers.

The incoming officers and directors are:

2009 Changeover

Club Service Awards Presented to Seven Members

The Rotary Club of Hunt Valley presented awards to nine members for their contributions throughout the 2009-10 Rotary Year.  The Club's Rotarian of the Year award was presented to Irving Spitzberg.  Matthew May, Membership chair, received the Service Above Self award for his generous support of the Club and the James Houck Foundation.  Club Service awards were presented to Greg Pierce, Ken Higgins, Lori Delucca, and Doug Riley.

For the first time, the Club awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award to Past-President Jack Beste for his outstanding contributions to the club.

Five Members Receive Paul Harris Fellowships

Five members of The Rotary Club of Hunt Valley were recognized as Paul Harris Fellows at the 2010 Changeover Banquet.  Named for the founder of Rotary, Paul Harris Fellowships were established in 1957 to express appreciation and recognition for an individual's contributions to The Rotary Foundation. 

President Eric Miller was a first-time recipient, and Greg Pierce,  Ken Davis, Irving Spitzberg, and Jack Beste were recognized as a Multiple Paul Harris Fellows.

Three Lucky Winners in Houck's Heroes Raffle!

The Houck's Heroes Raffle winners were drawn at the Changeover Banquet.  First Prize, a one-year executive membership to Hayfields Country club was awarded along with two cash prizes.  Thanks to all for your support of the Houck Foundation and congratulations to our winners!

Hunt Valley Receives Award Second Straight Year

President Maria Santana and President-Elect Eric Miller present the District 7620 Governor’s Gold Citation Award to the Club. This is the second straight year that the Rotary Club of Hunt Valley has been awarded both the District Gold and Rotary International Presidential Citation awards. Well done everyone!

"Loch Raven" Book Sales to Benefit Houck Foundation

The Rotary Club of Hunt Valley and the James W. Houck Foundation, Inc. have announced an exciting opportunity for members and the local community to support the Foundation and our Four-Way Test Program.

Local author and photographer David Simpson has generously offered to donate 20% of all Club sales of his new book "Loch Raven" and its accompanying posters and note cards to the Houck Foundation. The hard-bound, coffee table style books contains 100 pages of beautiful color images of Loch Raven Reservoir are available for $45, posters for $20, and note cards for $5.

We have a number of signed books available and they can be obtained at any Club meeting or by contacting us via email at support@huntvalleyrotary.com. Online purchases through the Foundation will be available after March 15 at www.JWHouck.org.
